Who can Benefit?

Anyone suffering from the pain associated with bad posture and affecting the lumbar region and other associated areas. Thousands of back-pain sufferers use Lumbros Biofeedbac™ support belt.

Bad posture can lead to the spine being misaligned which causes the muscles, bones and tissue to work even harder to compensate for this spinal imbalance. Lumbros utilises the latest developments in research into spinal disease and injury, LUMBROS brings FAST relief to back pain sufferers by using the body’s own automated awareness to re-educate its own muscular performance.

Leading UK spinal scientist Prof. Malcolm Pope’s unique Biofeedbac™ technology has taken more than 35 years of clinical research and development to develop this spinal expertise into an all-day wearable belt.

  • Relieves muscular pain fast
  • Reduces muscle tension
  • Supports & Improves posture Drug-free - no electronics - no batteries - no magnets
  • Developed in the UK by a spinal expert
  • Pacemaker friendly
  • Tested and proven clinically
  • Comfortable, Compact and Lightweight
  • Perfect For both men and women Adjustable velcro for easy use

“I worked closely with Global Product in the UK to develop the world’s first Biofeedbac™ health system, which utilises the body’s own automated awareness and re-educates muscles to perform at their best.”

A UK leader in spinal technology, Prof. Pope is in the top 53 of the World’s most influential scientists

BioFeedBac is the product of a lifetime’s work of the highly respected scientist and engineer, Professor Malcolm Pope. Malcolm has been leading the way in biomedical engineering for over 50 years, collecting many top awards for his work along the way. He’s recognised as a world authority on spinal problems and is ranked as one of the top 60 most influential scientists in the world today. He has held a number of prestigious positions in the UK and the US, including:

  • Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery (University of Vermont, US)
  • Professor of Mechanical Engineering (University of Vermont, US)
  • Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Orthopaedic Surgery (University of Iowa, US)
  • Emeritus Professor of Medicine and Dentistry (University of Aberdeen, UK).

Malcolm continues to be extremely active in his field and is currently Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and the RSM’s Sub Dean for Scotland. He is also an Honorary Consultant in Biomedical Physics and Bioengineering for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

The Biofeedbac back support belt is the result of many decades of detailed research and development by Malcolm and his dedicated team. His work on this brings together his interest and expertise in mechanical engineering and medicine. With his expert insights into the biomechanics of the spine it is no surprise that he developed the revolutionary concept of applying engineering based solutions to back problems. Malcolm is rather modest about his achievements but he has written more than ten specialist books on the subject of spinal disorders and his work has been featured in over 350 respected medical and engineering journals. He has also been honoured for his groundbreaking research and pioneering practical work in biomechanics, with awards including the Kappa Delta Award from the Royal Academy of Engineering, the American Arthroscopy Association’s O’Connor Award and the American Society of Biomechanics’ Borelli Award. In 2003 he was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award from the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine. Lecturing around the world is now a major part of his life, although Malcolm enjoys mentoring and encouraging the students who will provide the next generation of research and practical applications in biomechanics.

Lumbros Belt

Since I started wearing this belt, mostly during the day, I have felt some benefit
from the support it gives. I do, however, find that with continual movement it does tend to ride up. However, my back and posture seem to be much improved.
